Champion Lakes are located in the Bragg Creek area about 60 min from Calgary and comprised of Upper and Lower Champion Lake. These lakes are usually stocked with Cutthroat Trout. There are also reports of small perch.
You can easily fish the first lake from the shore. The second lake is shallow, surrounded by vegetation, and more challenging to fish without an inflatable float tube.
Champion Lakes Directions
To access Champion Lakes, you must take the gravel McLean Creek Trail and drive to its intersection with Fisher W Trail. From there it is a short but steep hike to the lakes.
