Shunda Lake Fishing

Shunda Lake or Fish Lake how it is also often called is a very popular fishing spot just outside of Nordegg.

Many people that fish at Shunda stay at the campground located right by the lake. If you can, book your campground spots early to get a spot right by the lake.

Shunda Lake Directions

Shunda Lake is located 176 km west of Red Deer in the Nordegg area.

Shunda Lake Fishing Spots

There are a lot of spots that you can fish from along the Fish Lake campground. The opposite side of the lake has a few good spots as well but you will need to walk there and the trail can get quite muddy after the rain. The main boat launch area is good as well but it gets busy.

Shunda Lake Fishing Tips

Shunda Lake usually gets stocked with Rainbow Trout and early summer is the best season to fish there. Powerbait and worms work great at Shunda Lake.

This a very busy lake during the summer and it gets pretty fished out. There are also a lot of wild birds such as loons and eagles that also hunt for fish there.
