Be very careful when ice fishing on Abraham Lake in the winter because water levels tend to fluctuate and can make it very unsafe to drive or even walk on ice. It also gets extremely windy there.

The most common fish species in Abraham Lake are Lake, Rainbow, Bull and Cutthroat Trout as well as Whitefish.

Abraham lake also attracts a lot of people in the winter because of the frozen methane bubbles in the ice.
