Allison Lake Fishing

Allison (Chinook) lake is located in the Crowsnest Pass area and it is a very popular spot for fishing, boating and camping.

Where is Chinook Lake?

Chinook Lake is located 235 km south of Calgary and 155 km west of Lethbridge. The last few kilometers of the road to the lake are not paved and there is a pretty steep hill just before the lake.

Chinook Lake Fishing Tips

There is a campground located right by Chinook Lake and it is a good place to stay if you want to fish for more than a day. If possible, try to get spots right by the lake.

Chinook Lake is stocked with Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout but Brook Trout can be found in the lake as well. Powerbait, small-sized lures, and worms work great on Chinook Lake. Like many other busy lakes, Chinook Lake gets pretty fished out by the end of the summer.

Usually, the best time to fish is in the morning and evening when the lake is not crowded. The parking area can get pretty full on the weekends.
