Lake of the Horns is a remote alpine lake in Kananaskis Country located not far from Carnarvon Lake. There is Cutthroat trout in this lake.
Lake of the Horns Directions
The hike to the Lake of the Horns starts from the Cat Creek day-use area located 120 km SW from Calgary. The back and forth hike is 29 km with an elevation gain of almost 900 m.
Some people end up camping near the lake because of the long hike. The first part of the trail can be biked but the last section has a lot of elevation gain. There is a river crossing and the bears are very active in this area.
