Sibbald Lake Fishing

Sibbald Lake is located 72 km west of Calgary. It is a small lake that is usually stocked with rainbow trout.

There is another stocked lake called Sibbald Meadows Pond located just 8 km away down the same road.

There is a campground by Sibbald Lake. Like most other small stocked lakes located close to Calgary, Sibbald Lake gets pretty fished out by the end of the summer.

This lake can be affected by winter and summer kills due to its shallow depths.

There is also quite a bit of seaweed/grass at Sibbald Lake which makes it look more like a swamp than a lake. Having a boat is definitely a plus.

Sibbald Lake Directions

Highway 68 that goes to Sibbald Lake is in pretty rough shape with a lot of potholes. The first 11 km from Trans-Canada Highway are paved while the rest is not.
