Glenmore Reservoir is located on the west side of Calgary. Elbow River feeds this large reservoir used by the city of Calgary as a source of drinking water.
Glenmore Reservoir Fishing Tips
The most common fish species in Glenmore are pike, whitefish and trout. Unfortunately, fishing used to be much better before the 2013 flood but you can still catch some good-sized fish if you know where and when to fish.
Most people fish on the south side by the sailing club. Another good spot is on the western side where Elbow River enters Glenmore Reservoir. Just make sure to fish in a lake and not Elbow because there are different regulations for both.
Because the water from Glenmore is used for drinking, ice fishing, or even walking on the ice is not allowed at Glenmore reservoir. For the same reasons, motorboats are not allowed on this lake.
