McGregor Lake (Reservoir) is known for its pike and walleye fishing. The max depth of the lake is around 10 m. Similar to many other parkland-prairie lakes it is a long narrow lake.
McGregor Lake Directions
McGregor Lake is located 173 km southeast of Calgary. Most people access the lake through the north side near Milo.
McGregor Lake Fishing Tips
The most common fish species are pike, walleye, burbot, and whitefish.
There is also crayfish in the lake. As per current regulations, if you end up catching crayfish you have to kill it and either eat it or get rid of it. Some of the fish feeds on crayfish and you can use this to your advantage by using a lure that looks like crayfish. Currently using real crayfish as bait is not allowed.
The dam on the north shore of the lake and the area around the inlet are good fishing spots.
